Equipment

  • Food-Grade Silicone Molds If you don’t already have some, you can find them online. I like the fruit-shaped ones on Amazon that come with silicone droppers
  • Grass-Fed Gelatin I use Zint Grass-Fed Beef Gelatin, which I carry in clinic.
  • Elderberry Syrup I recommend Garden of Life mykind Organics Elderberry Immune Syrup, which can be found on Fullscript
  • Organic Grape Juice Find it at your local grocery store, co-op, or natural foods store

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup organic grape juice
  • 3 tbsp grass-fed gelatin
  • 2 oz elderberry syrup

Instructions

  • Mix grape juice and gelatin in a pot and let bloom—wait a few minutes to let the gelatin “swell up” before heating.
  • Heat the mixture to fully dissolve the gelatin while stirring continuously. Don’t let it come to a boil.
  • Once gelatin is dissolved, remove from heat and stir in the elderberry syrup.
  • Fill your molds quickly & refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. I recommend using fruit snack molds that come with silicone droppers that make the process easy and kid-friendly.
  • Once chilled remove the gummies from the molds and store in the fridge. If you make a big batch, you can also freeze some. They’ll last up to a week iin the fridge, or longer in the freezer.

Notes

The gelatin will start to solidify as you fill the molds, so I prefer to make a couple of batches back-to-back rather than doubling the batch at once.
